Downloading and Installing RealPlayer™
The RealPlayer™
is free software that you can install on your computer. It allows
you to view and listen to compressed video and audio files. Even if
you have never downloaded anything, it is quite simple to do.
Printing out this page before you go to the download site will make
it easy for you to follow the instructions.
Step 1.
Go to the RealPlayer™ download site
http://www5.real.com/products (A new browser window
will open.) Scroll down the page until you see the link to the Real
Player (last link on page). Click on it. The next page has choices.
The free version is the top link. Click on it to download.
Scroll down the page until you see the link to the Real Player (last
link on page). Click on it. The next page has choices. The free version
is the top link. Click on it to download. Once you are there, you
will be asked to answer a few questions via a form. Once you fill
out the form, click the "Download Now" button. You will
be prompted to selected a directory on your hard drive to place the
file. Once you do this, the file will download to your hard drive.
Step 2.Install the
RealPlayer™.
You will have to close your Internet connection and all programs that
are open. On the PC, either through File Manager (Windows 3.1) or
My Computer (Win95), or on a Mac from your desktop, find the file
that you downloaded. Double-click on the file. This will start the
install process.
Step 3. Try the RealPlayer™.
Reconnect to the Internet and return to . Click on the picture. The
RealPlayer™ will automatically open and after a brief pause,
you will see the video.
